why is my outlook calendar not syncing with my s4

I was told that unlike Kies 2.6, which worked for me fine, Kies 3 uses Active X controls, which have compatibility issues with 64-bit Outlook. Yet, another explanation sounds more reasonable. I fail to see how that could be a Android issue. I say this is ridiculous because, the error I get is not on Android side, but Kies 3 being unable to connect to Outlook. I have spent ridiculous amount of time on a phone with Samsung 2nd-level support, and every other person there gives me the different reason and explanation. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.
